The Furniture Collection

Shown in Swedish White with gray and bronze accents.
This design is an amalgamation of design taken from a sofa in the manor house at Ekensberg, and a console at Almare-Staket, a sixteenth century house on the shores of Lake Malaren. Both houses are a testament to the neo-classical style that took Sweden by storm after King Gustav III’s return from Italy in 1784. At the time, the interior decoration of these two houses was said to be in ‘the very latest taste’, and to this day the Gustavian style is one of the most enlightened and refined in the pantheon of European decorative arts.
